Sports Medicine Facilities
HSU has three fully-equipped athletic training facilities. Our
1,230 square foot central AT facility, in the Jake Sandefer Field
House was constructed 1990. This facility serves as the Head
Athletic Trainer’s office and cares for the football, golf
and baseball teams, as well as our primary rehabilitation site.
The Mabee Complex athletic training room is approximately 642
square feet, and serves volleyball, and men’s &
women’s basketball, and tennis. This facility also houses an
assistant athletic trainer’s office.
All facilities have network access, and the Sports Medicine
Service Division utilizes the SportsWare program to enhance
record-keeping.
Examples of our modern treatment modalities and rehabilitation
equipment are: swiss balls, BAPS, stationary bikes, upper body
cycle, plyo-back, stair climbers, iontophoresis,
interferential/Russian stimulators, ultrasound, whirlpools and
intermittent compression. An on-campus weight room, fitness
facility and indoor & outdoor swimming pools are also available
as needed for rehabilitation.
The ATEP classroom/lab is located in Abilene Hall room 312. This
classroom/lab is an excellent resource for our athletic training
students.
