Savage has been on staff as an assistant athletic trainer at HSU since 2014. After two years of splitting responsibilities between assisting football, men’s basketball. and women’s basketball, in 2016 she took on the full-time responsibilities for the men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis, and cheerleading. During the 2016-17 men’s basketball season she coordinated AT and other healthcare services for the first round of the DIII NCAA national basketball championships hosted at HSU.
She was born and raised in Fort Worth where she completed her undergraduate studies at Texas Wesleyan University. After graduating with her bachelor's degree in athletic training she moved to San Marcos, Texas where she obtained her master’s degree in athletic training at Texas State University. During her time at Texas State, she provided AT services for their women’s soccer team as well as serving as a clinical preceptor and teaching assistant in their athletic training and pre-PT programs. She also conducted research regarding attrition and millennials in athletic training during her time at Texas State University.
She currently is a member of both the Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and serves as a NATA Research and Education Foundation Ambassador for District 6.
