ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' baseball team closed its series with top-ranked Trinity with a 6-1 loss on Saturday afternoon at Hunter Field.
Trinity scored three times in the third inning. John Tucker had an RBI single and Parker Cormack added an RBI double. Another run scored on a throwing error.
Trinity had a run in the fourth on a bases loaded walk by Tucker and Michael Goodrich had an RBI single in the fifth. Michael Davis added an RBI double in the sixth inning.
Logan Morrison and Tucker had three hits to pace Trinity and Bradshaw had three hits for the Cowboys.
Chandler Carter started for the Cowboys worked four and one-third innings and allowed five runs (three earned to fall to 3-6 on the year. Hayden Clark allowed one run over two and one-third innings and Taylor McMackin worked two and one-third scoreless innings.
Brendan Meyer went the distance for the Tigers scattering nine hits and three runs to improve to 5-0.
HSU is now 10-20 on the year and Trinity improved to 23-2. HSU will play at Ozarks next weekend in a key American Southwest Conference series.
