Liles Named Co-Defensive Player of the Week

RICHARDSON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons sophomore linebacker Wes Liles was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week by the American Southwest Conference.
Liles made the most of his first collegiate start by registering eight tackles - including 2.5 for a loss of nine yards - two sacks and one fumble recovery to pace a 38-31 win over Howard Payne. Liles spearheaded a unit that held the Howard Payne offense to negative 27 rushing yards.
The Cowboys are now 3-4 overall and 2-3 in ASC play. The Cowboys return to action Saturday when they travel to Alpine to take on Sul Ross State. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
