ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons senior running back Steven Rockwell was named to the D3football.com All-South Region's third team on Monday and he has also been selected to participate in the Division III Senior Football Classic this weekend.

The Division III Senior Classic will be played on Friday evening in Salem, Va., and the game will be aired on Fox College Sports beginning at 6 p.m. CST.

"This is a big honor for Rock," said HSU head coach Jesse Burleson. "He has worked really hard and has had a great career for us. We are proud of his accomplishments.

Rockwell was a first-team all-ASC selection after carrying 186 times for 1,076 yards and 18 touchdowns in the 2011 season. He finished his career with 2,500 yards and 31 touchdowns.
