Letter To HSU Fans From Head Coach Jesse Burleson

Dear Cowboy Football Family Member,

Things are going great here on the 40 Acres. We are in the middle of our Spring Football practice sessions. Our players are working extremely hard to put HSU Football on top where we belong. Their preparation and work ethic is not limited to the weight room or to speed development. The commitment to excellence in the classroom and in the community has been taken to heights never seen before.

I am sending you this letter to invite you to the Inaugural Cowboy Football Spring Lunch and Auction. This is an attempt to create a bond between all aspects of the Cowboy Football Family. We would like to combine players from the past, present, and future and families and friends of the program together for this special event.  We feel this is a great opportunity to get great Cowboys from the past together with the current crop of players and pass on the tradition and legacy that has made HSU Football the best in the nation.

The event will take place on Saturday April 28th. The final Spring Football Practice will be held at 9 a.m. at Shelton Stadium. This will include a Lineman Challenge and 7 on 7 competition between the current 2012 HSU Cowboys. After the conclusion of this practice, we will have a lunch and auction that will take place at Joe Allen's Lytle Bend Ranch in Abilene. We will have a Joe Allen's BBQ lunch buffet, guest speakers, and auction items available to bid on. *Current players will have their meals paid for by generous sponsors.

This will be a great time of fellowship and a great opportunity to experience the past and the future of Hardin Simmons Football. We would love to have everyone attend this event and make it an annual event that strives to carry on the rich tradition of this program we all love.

We look forward to combining players from the past, present and future along with families and friends of HSU Football.
