ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons’ men’s
soccer team overcame an early deficit for a 2-1 win over Concordia
in American Southwest Conference action at the HSU Soccer Complex
on Saturday afternoon.
Concordia got a goal 11:21 into the game from Taylor Granato off of
an Armando Dimeo assist.
HSU dominated the pace of play, outshooting Concordia 20-6 in the
match, including 7-1 on goal. It took the Cowboys until the 37:56
mark to get on the scoreboard. Rees Crosby took a ball from Eloy
Salgado and hammered it home to make it 1-1.
Cowboy sweeper Chris O’Brien found his way onto a Brennan
Goodman corner kick at the 71:37 mark.
HSU is now 4-1-1 and 3-0-0 in ASC play. Concordia fell to 3-2-2 and
1-1-2 in ASC action. The win was the Cowboys fourth in a row.
