ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team won its fourth straight American Southwest Conference game with a 2-0 win over Louisiana College on Saturday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex and in the process goalkeeper Logan Waters set the school record for career wins in goal with 32.
HSU scored the first goal of the game when John Anumu hammered home his own rebound that had deflected of the goalkeeper in the 40th minute.
The Cowboys added another goal in the 84th minute. When Zach Johnson dribbled into the box and dished off to Chris Hunter who ripped one past Eric Post for a 2-0 lead.
HSU outshot LC 19-17 in the game and 10-5 on goal.
Waters worked the shutout in goal for the Cowboys with five saves. It was his 20th career shutout. Eric Post had eight saves for LC.
Hardin-Simmons is now 4-3-2 overall and 4-1-1 in ASC action. Louisiana College fell to 2-6-1 overall and 1-3-1 in ASC play. HSU hosts McMurry on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
