Cariens Named ASC Sportsmanship Athlete Of The Year

RICHARDSON, Texas — Hardin-Simmons sophomore Andy Cariens was named the American Southwest Conference West Division Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year and four other Cowboys were honored by the league’s coaches on Wednesday.

Cariens was named to the second-team all-ASC West team at No. 1 singles and Trey Chavez (4), Cullen Dees (5) and Sean Strehlow (6) were also second-teamers in singles.

All three HSU doubles teams were second team as well with Dees and Cariens at No. 1, Strehlow and Stephen Salazar at No. 2, Chavez and Todd Henington at No. 3.
