Cowboys Win At UMHB

BELTON, Texas -- Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team opened American Southwest Conference West Division play with a 7-2 win at Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday afternoon.

Andy Cariens won at No. 1 singles over former teammate Ramon Aguirre, 6-3, 6-4. He also teamed with Cullen Dees for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles. James Aylesworth, Trey Chavez, Dees and Sean Strehlow won at No. 3, 4, 5 and 6 singles respectively.

HSU won two of the three doubles matches.

HSU is now 2-2 on the year and 1-0 in ASC West action. UMHB is 0-1 on the season.
