ASC Singles and Doubles Championships

ABILENE, Texas -- Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team had a solid showing in the American Southwest Conference Singles and Doubles Championships that were held at HSU and ACU over the weekend.
Singles
In flight one singles, Andy Cariens won the consolation draw with a 6-2, 6-3 win in the finals. Emmanuel Navejas advanced to the consolation finals before falling.
Cullen Dees, Trey Chavez and Sean Strehlow all advanced to the semifinals of flight three, four and five respectively. Chavez and Strehlow dropped tough three-setters in the semifinals.
Bryson Carter went 0-2 in No. 6 singles, Todd Henington went 1-2 and Tony Record advanced to the semifinals in No. 7 singles. Gavin Yabarra fell in the semifinals of flight eight singles, losing in a third set pro set.
Ryan Lawson won the flight nine consolation draw with a three set win in the finals and Max Prachyl lost in the finals of the flight nine championship bracket.
Doubles
Sean Strehlow and Andy Cariens made it to the flight one finals and lost 7-5, 7-6 to the No. 1 team from McMurry.
Tony Record and Bryson Carter advanced to the flight four doubles finals, falling 6-0, 6-4 in the finals.
No. 2 and No. 3 doubles each went out in their first match.
