SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Two Hardin-Simmons singles players and two doubles teams have advanced to the third round of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southwest Regional in San Antonio.

In the A flight singles the Cowboys have two players Sean Strehlow and Erich Bein that have advanced to the round of 16 from the 64-player bracket.

Bein, who is seeded third, defeated Stephen Rogers of Schreiner 6-0, 6-0 and beat Arvind Fernando of Trinity 6-4, 6-1. Strehlow beat Austin Carrola of Schreiner 6-1, 6-4 and upset No. 16 seed Kevin Wright of UT-Tyler, 3-6, 6-4, 11-9.

Jordan Wilson, Steven Stanley and Gavin Ybarra each lost their first match of the day but won their second match in the consolations and are in the round of 16 in the consolation bracket. Tony Record and Michael McCullough were eliminated with two losses.

Nathan Chavez and Jesse Rawlings have advanced to the B flight round of 16 Connor West and Max Prachyl split matches to remain alive.

Bein and Strehlow are in the quarterfinals in A doubles after a pair of easy wins. West and Prachyl and Rawlings and Chavez are both in the quarterfinals of the B doubles. All of the other Cowboy doubles' teams have been eliminated.
