Cowboys Drop 5-4 Match To Dallas Baptist

ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team dropped a tough 5-4 match against Dallas Baptist on Friday at the Streich Tennis Center.

The Patriots took a 2-1 lead after a tightly-contested doubles competition. Levi Cook and Colin Hollingsworth won 9-7 at No. 2 doubles over Nathan Torres and Riley Smith. Alex Hunt and Griffin Weinkam lost 9-7 at No. 1 doubles and Chandler Livingston and Jordan Davis lost at No. 3 doubles, 8-5.

Hunt won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles over Cannon Jones and Weinkam won 6-3, 6-3 over Nick Gilmore at No. 2 for HSU. Holt Field picked up a 6-2, 7-6 win at No. 4 singles.

DBU picked up wins at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to take the match.

HSU is now 0-2 on the year and DBU improved to 2-0. HSU will host Austin College at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
