BROWNWOOD, Texas - Hardin-Simmons men's tennis team swept Howard Payne, 9-0, late Saturday to remain perfect in American Southwest Conference action. HSU also lost 7-2 at Southwestern.

Jordan Davis picked up a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles. Alex Hunt and Chandler Livingston won 9-8 at No. 2 doubles in the match against Southwestern.

The Cowboys rolled over Howard Payne. The five singles matches were all straight set wins with no Cowboys allowing more than two games in a set. Griffin Weinkam and Davis each won 6-0, 6-0. HSU picked up default wins at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.

In doubles play, Davis and Holt Fields won 8-3 at No. 1 and Hunt and Livingston won 8-2 at No. 2 singles.

HSU is now 3-11 on the year and 2-0 in league play. The Cowboys will host Sul Ross State on Saturday.
