Cowboys Split in Men's Tennis

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis teams split a pair of non-conference matches on Saturday at the Streich Tennis Center as the Cowboys fell 6-3 to East Central Oklahoma and blanked Southwestern, 9-0.

Defending ASC player of the year Ryan Waters had his best day of the year as he won both matches. He defeated Pyotr Sitnikov of Division II East Central at No. 1 singles, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Waters also pounded Southwestern top player Nick Parker, 6-2, 6-2. He was also 2-0 at No. 1 doubles with Wade Morgan.

Andy Cariens continued his hot play with a win at No. 4 singles 6-5, 6-4 against ECU and won 6-2, 6-1 against Southwestern.

The Cowboys are now 3-3 on the year and are off until Spring Break.
