Cowboys Compete At Incarnate Word

SAN ANTONIO, Texas- Hardin-Simmons men's track and field competed in their first outdoor meet of the season at the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio.

In the 100 meter dash Jose Bolanos finished 36th with a time of 12.35. Hartfield finished 25th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:09.77. Brendan Boyd finished 21st in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:03.02. Kyle Hooper finished 41st in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.94.

Daniel Kaplinski, Kyle Hooper, Nathaniel Robinson and Boyd ran in the 4x400 meter relay finishing 18th with a time of 3:39.01.

In the men's distance medley, Cameron Lowman, Robinson, Kaplinski and Kameron Hartfield finished fifth with a time of 11:33.94. Dustin Miser finished 31st in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:35.63. The Cowboys finished 7th in the men's 1600 sprint medley with a time of 3:53.54. Bolanos, Kaplinski, Robinson and Hooper ran the race.

In men's field events, Kaplinski finished 16th in the long jump with 19-11 and Hooper finished 19th with 18-09. Brendon Kelso finished fourth in the javelin with 166-11, Taylor Hollingshead finished seventh with 146-01 and Keaton Alexander finished 22nd with 90-07. Kelso placed 10th in discus with 120.09 and 11th in shot put with 43-00.25. Hollingshead finished 23rd in discus with 99-07 and 13th in shot put with 41-05.75. Alexander placed 34th.

The Cowboys return to action Thursday at the Tarleton Relays in Stephenville.
