Cowboys Compete At Tarleton Invitational
STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' men's track team had a solid day at the Tarleton Invitational on Thursday.
Kyle Hooper ran a 24.04 in the 200 and Daniel Kaplinski (2:06.14), Nathaniel Robinson (2:06.77) and Dustin Miser (2:08.95) ran the 800.
Kameron Hartfield ran a 4.26.26 in the 1,500 and Miser ran a 4:32.74. In the 5,000 Hartfield ran a 17:00.68 and Cameron Lowman ran 17:26.56. Brendon Boyd was the only Cowboy hurdler to compete and he ran a 1:03.43 in the 400 hurdles.
Kaplinski leaped 18-8 in the long jump and Hooper jumped 18-7.
Brendon Kelso led the throwers for HSU. He threw the shot 43-2 to finish fourth in his section. In the discus he threw 131-6. He finished seventh in the hammer throw with a 134-1. Taylor Hollinshead and Keaton Alexander threw the hammer 101-7 and 75-8 respectively.
Kelso finished fifth in the javelin with a throw of 174-6. Hollinshead threw 147-1 to finish ninth.
