Cross Country Competes at Division III State Meet

SEGUIN, Texas — The Hardin-Simmons University cross country teams put together good performances at the DIII State Championships Saturday morning in Seguin.

The HSU women placed 3rd and were the first American Southwest Conference team. The Men's team also had an impressive showing by placing 4th in the meet which 11 DIII teams participated. Lindsey Hinton and Julia Holub both earned DIII All-State Honors by placing in the top 10 individually. Matt Buchhorn was the top finisher for the Cowboys with 15th place and a time of 28:58.

“We're proud of how far we've come. We look like a completely different team than what we were at this time last year,” said Coach Rodney Smith

“Although the season's young, this is a good indication of where we stand. We're going to keep working hard,” said Coach Shawn Hailey.
