Allen and Harris Named Academic All-District

ABILENE, Texas — Haylee Allen and Kristen
Harris, a pair of Hardin-Simmons women’s basketball players,
have been named to the ESPN The Magazine/College Sports Information
Director’s of America college division academic all-district
VI team as voted on by the sports information director’s in
the district.
Allen was one of six players on the first team and Harris was a
member of the second team. The team is based on athletic and
academic achievement. Allen has a 4.0 GPA as an education major and
Harris has a 3.91 GPA as a Communications major.
Both are starters for the Cowgirls and key contributors to
HSU’s 17-4 record. Allen averages 13.7 points and has 81
assists. Harris is averaging 7.6 points and 5.2 rebounds.
Allen will go on the ballot for all-American honors.
District VI includes teams in Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana,
Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. The college division includes teams
at junior colleges, NAIA, Division II and Division III schools.
