Newcombe Named West Division Player of the Week

RICHARDSON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons junior center Lindsey Newcombe was named American Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Week.

Newcombe averaged 25 points, 12.5 rebounds and four blocks over two conference games. She shot 72.4 percent from the field, knocked down 8 or 10 free throw attempts and added three steals. In an overtime road loss to Texas Lutheran, she had a double-double 29 points and 18 rebounds. She had 21 points in 21 minutes in a win over Schreiner to go over the 1,000-point mark for her career.

The Cowgirls return to action Thursday at Howard Payne. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
