HSU To Host Think Purple Game

ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team will host Sul Ross State on Thursday night in the Think Purple game at the Mabee Complex at 5:30 p.m.

Many schools do a Think Pink game for breast cancer awareness, but the Cowgirls will be doing a Think Purple game in honor of Lois Orsak, the mother of HSU assistant coach Melanie Chonko.

Mrs. Orsak lost her battle with pancreatic cancer in January. The national color for pancreatic cancer awareness is purple. All fans are encouraged to wear purple to show support.

The Cowgirls come into the game with a record of 11-12 overall and 9-10 in American Southwest Conference play. HSU is locked into the fourth seed from the ASC West in next week's tournament and will try to build some momentum heading into the tournament.

HSU beat Sul Ross State 83-45 in the team's first meeting on Jan. 12 in Alpine.  The Lobos come in with a record of 2-21 overall and 1-18 in league play.
