Cowgirls Move To 2-0

 

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team moved to 2-0 with an 80-51 win over Meredith College on Sunday afternoon in Greensboro, N.C.

Senior Danie Mabry scored 16 points and was named the tournament's most valuable player. Addison Garcia added 10 points and was named to the all-tournament team.

The Cowgirls jumped out to a 10-0 lead to start the game and never trailed in the convincing victory. HSU pushed the lead out to 22-6 after one quarter and led 40-22 at halftime.

HSU came out in the third and used a 14-4 run to put the game away.

The Cowgirls dominated the game in the paint with a 36-16 advantage and also had a 32-14 lead in points off of turnovers.

HSU will play at Trinity next Sunday in its next action. Meredith fell to 0-3 on the year.
