Cowgirls Place Ninth At UMHB
TEMPLE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team finished in ninth place with a two-day 748 total at the Lady Cru Fall Invitational that was held at the par-72, 5,820-yard Wildflower Country Club in Temple.
Brittany Alvarez and Traci Tschirhart were the Cowgirls top two players as they had 178 totals. Kacy Bartlett (100-96) and Amber Colson (98-98) shot 196's and Ragan Foos shot 102 and 101 for a 203. Stephanie Jones improved 21 strokes in the second round playing as an individual.
Mary Hardin-Baylor won its own tournament with a 322-321-643 for a 15-stroke win over Tyler Junior College. UMHB's Kelly Gonyea shot 80-77-157 to win the medalist race.
HSU will conclude the fall season on Oct. 17-18 at Schreiner.
