Cowgirls Finish Ninth At UMHB
BELTON, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team improved its score by 10 strokes but still finished in ninth place at the Mary Hardin-Baylor Spring Invitational at the Stone Creek Golf Course in Belton, Texas.
The Cowgirls shot a 382 on Tuesday after shooting 392 in round one. Traci Tschirhart led the Cowgirls on Tuesday with a 91, seven strokes better than the first round. She finished with a 189 total.
Kacy Bartlett led the Cowgirls with a 92-93-185 total. Ragan Foos shot 97 in both rounds for a 194 total and Stephanie Jones shot a 105-101-206 total.
Western Texas won the event with a pair of 306's for a 612 team total. It was nine shots better than Oklahoma Christian. Judy Papenfus of Western Texas was the individual champion with a 75-74-149, one shot better than Anna Arrese of Oklahoma Christian.
HSU is off until March 19 when they compete in the UTD Invitational.
