Former Cowgirl Named Air Force Female Athlete of the Year

ABILENE, Texas - Former Hardin-Simmons All-American Golfer Linda (Dulude) Jeffery has been named the Air Force Female Athlete of the Year for 2006.

Capt. Jeffery is a services officer in the 314th Services Squadron in Little Rock, Ark. She won the Air Force Women's Golf Championship by 39 strokes on Aug. 4 with rounds of 76, 74, 77 and 82 at Vandenberg Air Force Base.

She then won the Armed Forces Women's Championships by nine strokes. Her team won the event by 125 total stokes.

She then traveled to Galway, Ireland, to complete in the Couceil International Du Sport Militaire Golf Championship. She won the event by 12 strokes.

Dulude who is a reservist is a stay-at-home mom in her off-duty time and she has twins. She played for Jeff Goodin at Hardin-Simmons and led the Cowgirls to the NAIA National Championship in 1994. She was the first and still only four-time All-American at HSU. She was also a three-time Academic All-American.
