Cowgirls Push Streak To 99 Set-Up Clash With UTD

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team moved to 5-0 in American Southwest Conference action with a 4-0 win over the University of the Ozarks, Friday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex.

The win pushed the Cowgirls' ASC unbeaten streak to 99 games and sets up a huge matchup with UT-Dallas, who has been the Cowgirls' top rival during the streak. A win or tie on Saturday will make the streak 100 games.

HSU had a hard-time getting good looks against Ozarks' bunkered down defense in the first half, but Morgan Loyd came in and scored at the 40:49 mark and Stephanie Baker scored at 44:27 to give the Cowgirls a 2-0 halftime lead.

Jordan Morley scored her seventh goal of the season at the 51:37 mark and the Cowgirls led 3-0. Kayleigh Nager added the final goal at the 63:36 mark. HSU rested most of its starters the last 30 minutes of the game.

Ozarks managed only one shot in the game and it came in the closing minutes. Christi Carr and Rebecca Roth split time in goal for the Cowgirls. Lori Langman had 14 stops for Ozarks.

HSU outshot Ozarks 33-1 in the game.

HSU is now 6-2-2 on the year and 5-0-0 in league play. Ozarks fell to 3-7-0 and 1-3-0 in league play. HSU and UT-Dallas will play at 1 p.m. at the HSU Soccer Complex.
