GEORGETOWN, Texas -- Hardin-Simmons' third-ranked women's soccer team moved to 5-0 on the year with a 2-0 win over UC-Santa Cruz on Tuesday afternoon in Georgetown.
Amy Kuykendall continued her torrid scoring pace with two more goals to give her nine over the last four games. She gave the Cowgirls an early lead with a goal at the 2:24 mark when she cleaned up a rebound off the post by Sarah Stansell.
It remained 1-0 until Kuykendall took a ball from Miranda Bersosa in the middle of the box and sent it home at the 53:19 mark.
HSU outshot the Banana Slugs 20-3 in the game and 6-2 on-goal. Rebecca Roth recorded the shutout in goal for the Cowgirls with two saves.
The Cowgirls return home on Friday to play their most heated ASC rival over the years Texas-Dallas at 2 p.m.
