Cowgirls Shut Out UMHB

BELTON, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team blanked Mary Hardin-Baylor, 4-0, in American Southwest Conference action on Saturday afternoon at the UMHB CruPlex in Belton. 

The Cowgirls dominated the possession in the game and outshot UMHB 27-3 and 13-3 on-goal.

Brittany Vacca put the Cowgirls on the board just over nine minutes into the game with her eighth goal of the season. 

Courtney Creamer added a goal in the 15th minute on an assist from Shannon Byrd.

Miranda Bersosa put the game out of reach with back-to-back goals in the second half. She scored at 64:17 and 69:00. She now has 10 goals on the year. 

Becca Roth had three saves and recorded the shutout in goal for the Cowgirls.

HSU has won 12 straight and moved to 12-1 on the year and 9-0 in ASC play. UMHB fell to 4-9-1 and 4-6 in ASC play. 

The Cowgirls host Austin College at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
