Hardin-Simmons Completes Undefeated ASC Season

LONGVIEW, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team completed another undefeated run through the American Southwest Conference, closing out the regular season with an 8-0 win over LeTourneau on Saturday evening in Longview.

HSU's top two goal scorers got on the board in the first half. Miranda Bersosa scored her 13th and 14th goals and Katie Kuykendall added her 16th goal to make it 3-0 at halftime. 

HSU added five goals in the second half. Brittany Vacca scored her eighth goal of the year and Vivian Wells had goals 10 and 11 of the year. Kuykendall added her 17th goal in the 56th minute and Eliza Keegan ended the scoring for the Cowgirls in the 84th minute.

Rebecca Roth and Haley Martin split time standing in goal as the Yellow Jackets did not attempt a shot and HSU had 46 shots and 21 on goal. 

HSU outscored its ASC opponents 92-2 in its 13-0 run through the ASC this year. The Cowgirls are 17-1 on the year, ranked No. 5 nationally and will host the American Southwest Conference Tournament next weekend.

The Cowgirls will be looking for their ninth straight ASC title and will be hosting the league tournament for the ninth straight year. HSU has a 145-game unbeaten streak in ASC play. 

LeTourneau finished its season with a record of 3-15 and 2-11 in league play.
