Cowgirls Blank LeTourneau, 6-0

ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team beat LeTourneau 6-0 in American Southwest Conference action at the HSU Soccer Complex on Thursday.

Kirsten Parrish scored the first of her two goals in the game off a header in the 19th minute to give the Cowgirls the early lead and the game remained 1-0 at halftime.

Kenne Kessler scored off a Kendell Groom assist just :40 into the second half. It was her 11th goal of the season.

Parrish scored off a Josey Meyer corner kick in the 65th minute to give HSU a 3-0 lead. Elly Green scored off a nice assist from Michael Sabrsula in the 75th minute. Sofia Quijano scored in the 81st minute when she hit the upper left corner from about 35 yards out.

Rachel Bean finished the scoring in the 86th minute when she headed home a Tori Waters free kick.

The Cowgirls dominated the entire game, outshooting the Yellowjackets, 34-0.

Caitlin Christiansen worked the first 74:03 in goal and Casey Carrillo played the rest of the way.

HSU is 6-0 on the year and 2-0 in conference play. LeTourneau fell to 5-2-1 and 1-2 in league action. HSU will host East Texas Baptist on Saturday at 2 p.m.
