Cowgirls Remain Undefeated With 6-1 Win Over East Texas Baptist

ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' fifth-ranked women's soccer team remained undefeated with a 6-1 win over East Texas Baptist in American Southwest Conference action at the HSU Soccer Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Kenne Kessler put the Cowgirls on the board with her 12th goal of the season on a penalty kick just 7:01 into the game.

ETBU came right back and tied the game on a goal by Ashleigh Rondon off a corner kick by Kristi Freund.

The Cowgirls then added three more goals before halftime. Kami Jones scored for the fourth time this season off an Evan Pipkin assist. Kirsten Parrish added goal in the 34th minute and Maddie McAdams scored just :43 later to make it 4-1.

Parrish struck again in the 49th minute off a nice assist from Tiffany Van Hoose and Kessler added a goal in the 72' from Josey Meyer.

Caitlin Christiansen got the win in goal as she had a pair of saves in 58:27 of action. Casey Carrillo worked the final 31:33.

HSU outshot the Tigers 18-3 and 14-3 on target.

The Cowgirls are 7-0 on the year and 3-0 in conference play. ETBU fell to 5-3-1 overall and 2-1-1 in league play. HSU will play at Texas-Tyler and the University of Ozarks next weekend.
