Cowgirls Blank LC on Senior Day

 

ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team blanked Louisiana College 9-0 on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at the HSU Soccer Complex.

The Cowgirls honored its eight seniors – Olivia Hartman, Kami Jones, Maddie McAdams, Kirsten Parrish, Evan Pipkin, Hadley Schwierking, Tiffany Van Hoose and Tori Waters – in a pregame ceremony.

HSU came out early and Waters found Hartman in the second minute for a goal. Kenne Kessler then added a goal in the 23rd minute and the game remained 2-0 until just after halftime.

Kessler scored in the first minute of the second half, it was her 24th goal of the season to make it 3-0. Parrish scored off a Josey Meyer corner in the 51st minute and Hartman scored her fourth goal of the year in the 58th minute.

Meyer again found Parrish on a corner kick in the 67th minute. Schwierking scored in the 86th minute and Tori Waters scored a minute late. Rachel Bean added her fifth goal of the year in the final minute of the game.

All four Cowgirl goalkeepers played in the game and Caitlin Christiansen had the only two saves in the game for HSU. Casey Carrillo, Kayla Gable and Alyssa Sucrese all played in the second half.

HSU outshot the Wildcats 34-2 in the game and 21-2 on goal.

With the win, the Cowgirls are now 11-0 on the year and 7-0 in conference play LC fell to 1-8-2 overall and 1-6 in league play. The Cowgirls will play at UT-Dallas and Howard Payne this week.
