ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team stepped out of conference to play for a match-up of unbeatens with College of the Southwest and it was the Cowgirls who remained undefeated with a 5-0 win, Tuesday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex.
The Cowgirls dominated the game with 34 shots to five for the Mustangs. Whitney Piendak scored the first game on a beautiful header on a corner from Jessica Flobeck. Laura Newbrough scored on an indirect kick from Regan Cappella in the 40th minute.
Piendak made it 3-0 with her 22nd goal of the season in the 55th minute on a penalty kick. Amy Kuykendall added her 19th goal of the season off a Morgan Loyd assist. Jordan Morley scored the final goal at the 72:58 mark on a corner kick from Cappella.
Christi Carr and Ashley Jackson split the game in goal for HSU.
HSU is now 12-0-3 on the year and the College of the Southwest is 12-1-0. HSU plays at McMurry on Saturday.
