Clark Earns Two All-Region Awards

ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons’ junior shortstop Courtney Clark has picked up two all-region awards as she was named academic all-region by ESPN The Magazine and the College Sports Information Director’s of America and she was named second-team all-region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Clark, who hit .447 with eight home runs and 32 RBIs, was the American Southwest Conference West Player of the Year. She also posted a 3.95 grade point average as a Fitness and Sports Sciences major.

With her first team selection, she will go on the all-American ballot.

Taylor Namey, a freshman catcher, who hit .380 with 14 home runs and 51 RBIs was also named to the second team NFCA all-region team.

The Cowgirls went 31-12 and won the ASC West Division.
