Cowgirls Fall 3-1 To Sul Ross State
ALPINE, Texas -- Hardin-Simmons' softball team dropped the final game of its American Southwest Conference series with Sul Ross State, 3-1, on Saturday at Lady Lobo Field in Alpine.

Breanna Greer got the Cowgirls off to a quick start in the first when she tripled and Braleigh Middleton bunted her home for a 1-0 Cowgirl lead three pitches into the game.

Sul Ross State scored two times in the fourth on a two-run double by Alejandra Pasillas. The Lobos added an insurance run in the fifth inning on a Cowgirl error.

Lexie Allen (4-7) started and took the loss for the Cowgirls allowing three runs in four innings. Genia Jones worked the final two frames of scoreless relief.

Jackie Gonzalez improved to 5-9 for Sul Ross State as she allowed just one run on three hits.

The Cowgirls are now 9-13 overall and 6-12 in ASC play and Sul Ross State is now 9-16 overall and also 6-12 in league play. HSU will play at Howard Payne next weekend.
