Women's Tennis Defeat UT-Tyler

ABILENE, Texas- Hardin-Simmons tennis team started its conference play off with a 6-3 win over The University of Texas at Tyler, Saturday afternoon at Streich Tennis Center.

The Cowgirls won two doubles matches and then won in four of the six singles matches.
Lisa Mertz defeated Beth Launius, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, Morgan Rainer defeated Michelle Hagler 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, Lauren Jay defeated Lauren Neilsen 7-6, 6-3 at No. 3 singles, and Brittany Brazell defeated Lauren Giovannini 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.

HSU is now 2-1 on the year and will return to action vs. Letourneau on Friday.
