Cowgirls Remain Perfect In ASC Play

RICHARDSON, Texas  — Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team opened its five-match American Southwest Conference weekend with a 7-2 win over the University of the Ozarks on Thursday afternoon at UT-Dallas in Richardson.

The Cowgirls jumped to a 2-1 lead after doubles as Genene Haddad and Jasmine Briant and Hannah and Jenna Smith each had decisive wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.

Haddad, both Smiths, Briant and Kacie Berutti all had straight set wins at No. 1-4 and No. 6 singles.

HSU is now 2-5 overall and 2-0 in ASC play. Ozarks fell to 1-7 overall and 1-5 in conference action. HSU plays UTD on Friday.
