LUBBOCK, Texas — Hardin-Simmons’ men’s and women’s track teams had a respectable showing in their first meet of the season, Saturday at the Texas Tech Indoor meet.
Brendon Kelso was the Cowboys top finisher as he placed 10th in the shot put with a throw of 13.27 meters.
Taylor Gainey finished 19th in the men’s 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.52. Jayce Boyd, Gerard Millsap and Brandon McClure finished 23rd, 26th and 42nd in the 55-meter dash. Five Cowboys ran the 400 and McClure finished the highest at 31st in a time of 54.84.
Boyd was 21st in the 200 with a time of 23.62. He was one of seven Cowboys in the field.
Ashley Huston finished 11th in the 55-meter hurdles, with a time of 8.75. Nicole Campbell and Dacy Ivy finished 19th and 22nd in the 55-meter hurdles.
Seven Cowgirls ran the 400-meters and Huston had the best finish with a 1.02.58 good for 24th.
Jordan Manning led five Cowgirls in the 200-meters with a time of 26.84 good for 21st place.
