Five Track Athletes Earn Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS — Five Hardin-Simmons track athletes were named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National All-Academic team for the outdoor track season.

Brendon Kelso of the men’s team and Ashley Huston, Haylee Allen, Dacy Ivy and Jordan Manning of the women’s team were named to the team.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met the NCAA Division III Indoor or Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event.

Huston, Ivy and Kelso each qualified for the NCAA Championships and Manning and Allen were members of the 4x400 team that provisionally qualified but the time did not hold up.
