Cowgirls Have Best Meet Of Season

ODESSA, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's cross country team had its best meet of the year, placing fourth at the UT-Permian Basin Invitational on Saturday.

The Cowgirls added three new runners this week to the lineup and two of them placed in the top 15. Ashley Huston ran a 22:11 to place eighth in the meet. Her sister Haylee Allen ran a 23:40 to place 15th and Alyssa Thompson ran a 23:44 to place 16th.

Kindell Moore finished 23rd with a 26:08 and Trissy Herrington ran a 28:34. Gaela McGaha finished with a time of 30:06.

The meet was run at the Comanche Trails Park and was a 5K. El Paso Community College won the meet, followed by Eastern New Mexico, UT-Permian Basin, Hardin-Simmons, Odessa College and Sul Ross State.

 

HSU will next be in action Tuesday at the Angelo State meet.
