Cowgirls Finish Fifth At ASC Cross Country Meet

CLINTON, Miss. — Hardin-Simmons’ women’s
cross country team finished in fifth place at the American
Southwest Conference Cross Country meet held in Clinton,
Mississippi.
The Cowgirls finished fifth as a team with Lindsey Hinton leading
the way. Hinton finished sixth overall with a time of 6:59.05 to
earn All-ASC honors. Jayme Wills finished in 21st with a time of
27:47.33, Maloree Kendall finished 30th with a time of 28:45.67 and
Alyssa Thompson finished 34th. Vanessa Montelongo, Allison
Robertson, Trissy Herington, Whitney Rank and Cori Eggeling also
ran for the Cowgirls.
The University of Texas-Tyler won the girls division with 40
points. Carla Lewis of McMurry was the top female individual. She
finished first with at time of 25:01.51.
Matt Buchhorn, Adrian Parker and Will Wright ran for the Cowboys.
Buchhorn finished with a time of 6:28.01 and a 29th place finish
and Parker ran a 6:37.11 for a 34th place finish. Wright finished
58th for the Cowboys.
Mississippi College took first place in the men’s race with
MC’s Tino Gonzales taking first with a time of 28:02.32.
HSU will compete at the NCAA regional meet in Greensboro, North
Carolina on November 14.
