Cowgirls Finish Sixth At DIII State Meet

SEGUIN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's cross country team finished sixth at the Division III Texas State Meet on Saturday morning at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin.

Lindsey Hinton led the Cowgirls effort with a ninth-place finish in a time of 26:12. Jayme Wills finished 27^th with a time 28:18 and Lydia Bjork was right behind in 28^th in 28:30. Vanessa Montelongo was 31^st with a 28:45 and Alyssa Thompson was the final counting score for the Cowgirls with a 44^th-place finish in a time of 30:18.

Maloree Kendall (31:13), Allison Robertson (30:38), Trissy Herington (31:13), Whitney Ranlin (31:26), Delanie Walker (31:43) and Cori Eggeling (38:50) also competed for the Cowgirls.   

McMurry won the event with a total of 49 points. UT-Tyler was second, followed by Trinity, Southwestern and Texas Lutheran.

The Cowboys also sent two men runners and J.C. Faubion finished in 21^st with a time of 29:19 and Matt Buchhorn was 29^th with a time of 30:29.
