SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' track and field teams had a solid meet at the Incarnate Word Invitational on Saturday at the Tom Benson Track in San Antonio.
Julia Holub placed sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:34.57 and she was 17th in the 5000 with a 20:21. Martika Davis ran a 13.99 in the 100 and 29.22 in the 200. She placed ninth in the long jump with a 4.11 meter leap and was fourth with a 8.91 meter triple jump.
Rachel Allen was fourth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:16.16.
Branell Falcon was ninth in the shot put and Shannon Shipp was 10th. Falcon was 10th in the javelin. Shipp finished third in the discus and Falcon was 11th and Falcon was second in the hammer throw.
Derek Footer ran a 15.08 to place second in the 110 hurdles. He was seventh in 400 hurdles with a time of 1:04.83. Daniel Kaplinski was 13th in the 400 with a time of 51.87.
The 4x100 men's relay team ran a 44.99 to finish in seventh place. The team consisted of Zeth Barron Jose Balanos, Patrick Adams and Kyle Hooper. The 4x200 team of Bolanos, Hooper, Adams and Kaplinski was fifth with a 1:33.74.
Adams was 14th in the 100 with an 11.33 and eighth in the long jump with a 6.11 and fifth in the triple jump at 12.78 meters.
Garret Monita ran a 4:41.04 to place 11th in the 1,500 meters.
Justin Gray was sixth in the shot put and Brendon Kelson finished in eighth. Kelso was fourth in the javelin and Bryce Bevill finished eighth.
Gray was second in the discus, with Kelso placing eighth and Bevill 10th. Kelso was fourth in the hammer throw and Bevill and Gray finished 11th and 12th respectively.
HSU will run at the Tarleton Relays this week.
