AUSTIN, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team won its sixth straight match with a 17-25, 25-22, 25-13, 27-25 American Southwest Conference win over Concordia on Saturday afternoon at the Concordia Fieldhouse in Austin.
Madison Reyes continued to lead the offensive assault for the Cowgirls as she had 15 kills. Christine Sas added 14 kills as the Cowgirls hit .154 for the match. Sas had 17 digs and Reyes 14 giving both players double doubles.
Concordia won the first game, but the Cowgirls came back to even the match at 1-1 with a tough 25-22 win in the second game. The game was tied at 20-20 and the Cowgirls won four of the next five points. HSU then won easily in the third game.
In the deciding fourth set, it was close throughout and tied at 25, but kills by Hannah Hornsby and Madison Reyes ended the match.
HSU is now 6-2 overall and 2-0 in ASC West play. Concordia fell to 4-4 overall and 0-2 in ASC action.
