Cowgirls Drop A Pair on Saturday

TYLER, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on the final day of the Dakotas Patriot Classic in Tyler.

Game 1

The Cowgirls fell in the first match 25-17, 25-21, 16-25, 25-17 to Hendrix College.

Allison Kuster led the way for the Cowgirls with nine kills and she added 17 digs for HSU. Megan Bauer added eight kills for the Cowgirls.

Both setters had double-doubles for HSU. Ashley Pierce had 20 assists and 15 digs and Rebekah Hayes had 17 assists and 10 digs. Myra Carrion led the Cowgirls with 23 digs and Mary Johnson added 14.

 

Game 2

In the final match of the tournament, HSU lost to Birmingham Southern 25-21, 25-17, 25-19.

Bauer led the Cowgirls with eight kills and Carrion led the defense with 22 digs.

HSU (2-6) will open American Southwest Conference play on Tuesday at the Mabee Complex at 6 p.m. against Mary Hardin-Baylor. The two teams were the top two picks in the American Southwest Conference West Division.
