HSU Soccer Teams Learn Semifinal Foes

ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons’ men’s and women’s soccer teams each earned first round byes in the American Southwest Conference Championships and both teams learned who their opponents will be after quarterfinal play on Friday.

The Cowgirls will host Mary Hardin-Baylor in the first semifinal at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the HSU Soccer Complex. HSU defeated UMHB 4-0 in the regular season meeting. The game can be heard on www.hsuathletics.com with Burr Thornton handling the call.

The Cowboys will play the University of the Ozarks, who advanced on penalty kicks over Mississippi College, at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Belton. HSU beat Ozarks 2-1 in the regular season meeting in Clarksville.

The finals of both tournaments are slated for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
