ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' eighth-ranked women's basketball team continued to roll as it beat Concordia 91-41 in American Southwest Conference action at the Mabee Complex on Thursday night.
HSU wasted little time taking control of the game as it jumped out to a 21-7 lead in the first quarter and led 22-11 after the first quarter. The Cowgirls outscored the Tornados 27-9 in the second quarter and led 49-20 at halftime.
The Cowgirls hit 17-of-25 shots in the first half and limited the Tornados to 7-of-29 shooting.
It was more of the same in the second half as the Cowgirls finished the game holding Concordia to 14-of-56 shooting. The Cowgirls shot 30-of-54 for 55.6 percent.
Paris Kiser led a balanced Hardin-Simmons attack with 15 points. Natasha Blizzard had her ninth double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Hallie Edmondson scored 12 points and Samantha Tatum scored 11.
Mackenzie Berger was the only Concordia player to reach double figures with 10 points.
HSU improved to 22-2 on the year with the win and to 17-0 in conference play. Concordia fell to 10-13 overall and to 7-10 in ASC action.
The Cowgirls will close the regular season with senior day on Saturday when it hosts Mary Hardin-Baylor at 1 p.m.
