Ramos, Francino, Zavala Named D3football.com All-Americans
SALEM, Va. – Hardin-Simmons had three players named to the 2015 D3football.com all-America team that were announced prior to the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl on Friday Night in Salem, Va.

Jessie Ramos was named first-team all-American as both a kick returner and wide receiver. The Stamford product had an amazing season that saw him record 77 catches for 1,466 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also had 314 punt returns yards and scored twice and had 166 yards and a touchdown on five kickoff returns.

Ramos was named the American Southwest Conference player of the year. He also become the all-time leader in the ASC in all-purpose yards with 5,941 career yards. He scored 48 career touchdowns for the Cowboys. He was also a first-team all-America selection by the American Football Coaches Association and was named to the Associated Press Little all-America first team.

Junior punter Nico Francino was named first-team all-American. The Midland native was leading the nation in punting when he tore his ACL in the mud game at East Texas Baptist. He was the American Southwest Conference special teams player of the year. He averaged 43.6 yards on 30 punts on the year and 15 of those were downed inside the 20.

Senior defensive tackle Korey Zavala was named a second-team all-American. The Mason product had 77 tackles on the year and had 19 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks on the season.

The trio led the Cowboys to the ASC Championship and to the NCAA playoffs. HSU finished the year 9-2.
