RICHARDSON, Texas – Trinity converted a free kick from just outside the box in the 61st minute to down Hardin-Simmons 1-0 in men's soccer action on Friday afternoon at the UTD Soccer Complex in Richardson.
The Cowboys had chances to tie the game with five goals and three corner kicks in the second half but Chad Margotta and the Tiger defense kept the Cowboys off the board.
Trinity outshot the Cowboys 14-7 in the contest and 7-3 on frame.
- The game is part of the ASC-SCAC challenge.
- HSU has lost to the No. 6 team in the nation (Trinity) and the No. 7 team in the nation (Brandeis) both by one goal.
- Each of the last four meetings between the teams have been a one-goal Trinity win.
The Cowboys will look to get in the win column on Saturday at 5 p.m. against Southwestern in Richardson. SU lost to UT-Dallas 2-0 on Friday.
