Cowboys, Tornados Play To 1-1 Tie
ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw in American Southwest Conference action against Concordia on Saturday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex.

The Cowboys took the lead on a goal by Laurent Maksoud off of an assist by Cole Johnson in the 68th minute.

Concordia was finally able to find the back of the net to tie the game at the 86:21 mark on an Alejandro Labastida goal.

The Tornados had plenty of chances on the day, outshooting the Cowboys 30-7 and 17-1 on target.

However, HSU goalkeeper Michael Vargas kept turning away shots and was just off the school record with 16 saves. The HSU record is 18 saves in a match.

The Records

HSU is now 5-5-2 overall and 3-3-1 in ASC play. Concordia is now 10-1-1 and 3-1-1 in conference play.
